Life's about people, when it comes down to it, but there are certain products that—when you get them in your hands—make you want to scream "America Rules!" The thing is, those products are different for everyone. Products don't make it on to this site just by being made in America—they're here because they are top-notch and have qualities that make them something you'd be proud to own and use.

Think of it like a Whole Foods, but for stuff. Years ago, a friend told me not to eat anything that had hydrogenated oils in it. I thought I'd see if it was a reasonable goal. The litmus test? I decided to pick one thing up and see if it had the evil oils. I picked up a Snickers bar, and sure enough, it was full of trans-fats. After looking at my favorite pesto mix and finding hydrogenated oils in it, I dismissed her warning as a chicken-little type deal. Years later I realized she was right, they are terrible for you, and it isn't impossible to find foods that don't have them.

Whole Foods came along and did my friend one better. They opened an entire grocery store that had no food with trans-fats. While they didn't carry my favorite Snickers bar, I could pick-and-choose the food based on what looked good, knowing someone had already done the hard part of making sure everything in the store would ultimately be good for me. There was no headache at all.
